Import and Export of Japanese Silk Products in Jan

Trade situation of silk products in January.

 

        According to statistics of Japanese Ministry of Finance, trade amount of silk products was $ 207 million, an increase of 20.25 percent and 1.7 percent from previous month and previous year respectively. Among them, import amount was $ 194 million, an increase of 27.36 percent and 0.84 percent from previous month and previous year respectively. Export amount was $ 13.0995 million, a decrease of 34.08 percent from previous month and a year-on-year increase of 16.34 percent. The specific products composition was as follows:

 

        Import: Amount of silk was $ 9.7935 million, an increase of 5.59 percent and 9.92 percent from previous month and previous year respectively. Import volume of silk were 167.78 tons, an increase of 5.18 percent and 7.77 percent from previous month and previous year respectively. Amount of silk fabrics was $ 10.9208 million, an increase of 18.41 percent and 4.83 percent from previous month and previous year respectively. Amount of silk manufactured products was $ 173 million, an increase of 29.49 percent and 0.13 percent from previous month and previous year respectively.

 

        Export: Amount of silk was $ 293.7 thousand, a decrease of 18.96 percent from previous month, and an increase of 218.13 percent from previous year. Export volume of silk were 35.66 tons, an increase of 682.94 percent and 3622.65 percent from previous month and previous year respectively. Amount of silk fabrics was $ 11.0383 million, a decrease of 39.39 percent from previous month and an increase of 10.68 percent from previous year. Amount of silk manufactured products was $ 1.7675 million, an increase of 36.12 percent and 48 percent from previous month and previous year.

 

        The major import sources of silk were China (import amount was $ 106 million, fell 6.63% year-on-year, accounting for 54.71%), Vietnam (import amount was $ 39.734 million, rose 32.77% year-on-year, accounting for 20.53%), Italy (import amount was $ 13.5993 million, fell 5.76% year-on-year, accounting for 7.03%), Bangladesh (import amount was $ 6.3873 million, fell 25.84% year-on-year, accounting for 3.3%), and Indonesia (import amount was $ 6.3784 million, rose 63% year-on-year, accounting for 3.3%). All these 5 import sources totally accounted for 88.87 percent.

 

        The major export markets were China (export amount was $ 4.4798 million,rose 6.05% year-on-year,accounting for 34.2%), Vietnam (export amount was $ 4.2649 million, rose 18.32% year-on-year, accounting for 32.56%), Thailand (export amount was $ 819 thousand, rose 115.87% year-on-year, accounting for 6.25%), Hong Kong (export amount was $ 770.3 thousand, rose 87.67% year-on-year, accounting for 5.88%), and Taiwan (export amount was $ 643.8 thousand, rose 136.42% year-on-year, accounting for 4.91%). All these 5 export markets totally accounted for 83.8 percent.
