The second topic of the 3rd Asian Silk Forum is “Establishment of the Asian Silk Alliance”. After discuss, team reconsideration, and final discuss by business representatives from Thailand, China, India, Myanmar, Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam and other countries, all delegates reached a consensus on establishment of the Asian Silk Alliance, recognized the importance that the Asian silk enterprises should enhance communication and interaction, give cooperation and mutual assistance in the silk industry chain, provide experience sharing for the alliance member companies, predict industry challenges and crises, study how to cope with challenges and promote industrial innovation and development. The meeting revised the vision, objective, content, organization and operation platform of ASA. Secretariat was located in India. Asian Silk Website was the operation platform of the alliance.
The international silk industry is facing the new era of cultural heritage, technological innovation, transformation and upgrading, cross-border cooperation. Especially under the regional economic development background of “One Belt and One Road”, all the silk-producing countries have more interconnection, strengthen the exchange of industrial information to promote industrial trade and investment among countries. That will promote the healthy development of the international silk industry significantly. Therefore, China Zhejiang Cathaya Group, jointly discussed with domestic and foreign silk enterprises and organizations, proposes to establish International Silk Enterprise Promoting Development Union. Abbreviation is International Silk Union (ISU). The ASA state that they will actively participate in the establishment of the International Silk Union, go to Hangzhou to participate in the preparatory meetings of ISU, and jointly plan the development of global silk industry.
The 3rd Asian Silk Forum ended successfully on the afternoon of September 10, and successfully completed the intended targets.
