ISU Secretariat Visited Member Unit -- Xinyuan Cocoon Silk Group Co., Ltd.
In order to have an in-depth understand of the current situation and develop needs of member units, and strengthen the relationship between ISU secretariat and member units, on April 25, 2019, Mr. Li Jilin, chairman of ISU, Ms. Bian Xinger, vice secretary general, Wu Jingen, CEO of ISU member unit -- Zhejiang Cathaya International Co., Ltd., and Ma Jing, editor of world silk website, went together to visit member unit -- Xinyuan Cocoon Silk Group Co., Ltd.
Mr. Chu Chengping, president of Xinyuan, accompanied chairman Li Jilin and other entourage to visit Xinyuan industrial park, including the silk culture exhibition hall, finished product exhibition hall, biotechnology exhibition hall and weaving factory, and introduced the development of Xinyuan's entire industrial chain. Xinyuan took the lead in practicing the operation mode of “group enterprise (innovation platform, deep processing) + university + brand + standard + base (sericulture farm, sericulture cooperative, member farmer) + internet +”, which has created the most complete silk industry chain in China and the world. The products cover cocoons, raw silk, silk yarn, silk fabrics, clothing, home textile, cultural and creative products, and bio-health products, etc.
Chairman Li Jilin and president Chu Chengping had an in-depth exchange. President Chu expressed his gratitude to ISU secretariat for visiting, and introduced to the ISU secretariat for the transformation of the company from state-owned to joint-stock system, and single cocoon processing to the entire industrial chain. Xinyuan has 22 holding subsidiaries, 13 branches and 90 cocoon stations, distributed in Jiangsu, Guangxi, Anhui, Shenzhen, Beijing and other places. It is a leading enterprise and key backbone enterprise specialized in cultivating sericulture production bases, research and development of silk products, production processing, and domestic and foreign trade.
Chairman Li Jilin introduced the work carried out since the establishment of ISU. ISU secretariat has organized regional silk industry and cultural exchanges many times, convened the ISU Members Assembly and the ISU Chairman Enlarged Meeting, held the Seminar on New Development Trends of World Silk Industry, and the Belt and Road Forum for International Silk, organized China Hangzhou Silk Boutique Exhibition during French Silk Festival, and established five professional committees for History Culture, Fashion Design, Education Research, Technical Innovation and Trade Manufacture. Chairman Li Jilin discussed with president Chu Chengping about the 2019 work plan and the general meeting of ISU, and said that ISU secretariat will continue to practice the principle of “communication and cooperation, development with concerted efforts” and enhance the quality of union value through serving.
Through the visit, ISU secretariat learned about the development of Xinyuan's development situation and the information needs for the international silk market. ISU secretariat will further improve the service work and provide a broader platform for the international exchange of member units.
