1. Trade Situation of Silk Products in December, 2017.
According to the statistics of Brazil's Ministry of Foreign Trade, the trade amount of silk products in December was $ 18.8471 million with a decrease of 0.32% compared with last month and an increase of 6.14% compared with last year. Among them, the import amount was $ 12.7212 million with a decrease of 13.82% compared with last month and an increase of 17.64% compared with last year; The export amount was $ 6.1259 million with an increase of 47.7% compared with last month and a decrease of 11.55% compared with last year. Specific product composition as follows:
Import: Silk amount was $ 168.1 thousand with an increase of 1841.81% compared with last month and an increase of 0.64% compared with last year, silk volume was 0.72 tons with an increase of 1572.09% compared with last month and a decrease of 77.3% compared with last year. Silk fabrics amount were $ 5.0425 million with a decrease of 13.27% compared with last month and an increase of 17.92% compared with last year. Silk manufactured products amount were $ 7.5107 million with a decrease of 15.97% compared with last month and an increase of 17.59% compared with last year.
Export: Silk amount is $ 3.3261 million with an increase of 152.14% compared with last month and an increase of 5.83% compared with last year. Silk volume was 60.56 tons with an increase of 127.39% compared with last month and a decrease of 17.72% compared with last year. Silk fabrics amount were $ 2.0828 million with an increase of 8.26% compared with last month and a decrease of 29.37% compared with last year. Silk manufactured products amount were $ 716.9 thousand with a decrease of 20.72% compared with last month and a decreased of 14.05% compared with last year.
2. Trade Situation of Silk products from Jan. to Dec. 2017.
Jan. to Dec., 2017, trade amount of Brazil was $ 239 million, up by 13.44% from previous year. Among them, import amount was $ 173 million, up by 16.22% from previous year; Export amount was $ 65.8776 million, up by 6.73% from previous year. Details are as follows:
Among the import products, amount of silk was $ 3.2896 million, up by 11.05% from previous year, the volume of silk was 41.59 tons, down by 12.98% from previous year; Amount of silk fabrics were $ 65.9683 million, up by 14.24% from previous year; Amount of silk manufactured products were $ 104 million, up by 17.69% from previous year.
The major import sources were China (import amount was $ 114 million, up 21.68% year-on-year, accounting for 65.72%), Thailand (import amount was $ 5.0209 million, down 25.42% year-on-year, accounting for 2.9%), Italy (import amount was $ 4.77 million, down 13.42% year-on-year, accounting for 2.76%), Vietnam (import amount was $ 4.6005 million, up 1.11% year-on-year, accounting for 2.66%), and Cambodia (import amount was $ 3.9153 million, down 9.62% year-on-year, accounting for 2.26%). All these 5 sources totally account for 76.3%.
Among the export products, amount of silk was $ 33.0213 million, up by 10.31% from previous year, the volume of silk was 642.3 tons, down by 1.98% from previous year; Amount of silk fabrics were $ 24.6724 million, up by 3.93% from previous year; Amount of silk manufactured products were $ 8.184 million, up by 1.68% from previous year.
The major export markets were Vietnam ( export amount was $ 11.6576 million, down by 12.26% year-on-year, accounting for17.7%), Argentina (export amount was $ 10.0058 million, up by 14.25% year-on-year, accounting for15.19%), Japan (export amount was $ 8.7412 million, up by 34.42% year-on-year, accounting for 13.27%), France (export amount was $ 8.6731 million, up by 36.78% year-on-year, accounting for13.17%), and Paraguay (export amount was $ 5.9745 million, up by 25.52% year-on-year, accounting for 9.07%). All these 5 markets totally account for 68.4%.
