ISU is Included in the Yearbook of International Organizations of UIA

In May 2020, after layers of approval and qualification recognition, International Silk Union(ISU) is included in the Yearbook of International Organizations, Union of International Associations(UIA), becoming the first silk international organization in the yearbook that the secretariat locates in China. UIA's paying attention and recognition to ISU, and regarding ISU as the formal international organization, will further strengthen the deeper and more diverse interaction between ISU and international organizations and platforms, promote the cooperation process of docking with international associations, social groups, government departments and multinational enterprises, enhance the information sharing in the silk industry.

The inclusion of ISU by Yearbook of International Organizations will enhance the international influence of ISU. ISU was founded in October, 2015, it is an international and specialized non-profit social organization in which enterprises and related organizations from the silk producing and consuming countries participate voluntarily, aiming to promote mutual exchange and cooperation of the silk industry around the world, and building an exchange and cooperation platform for the international silk industry. At present, there has been 123 enterprises and organizations from 20 countries and regions joining ISU, including China, Italy, France, Switzerland, Brazil, Poland, Japan, Thailand, India, Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, Indonesia, Singapore, USA, Australia, Uzbekistan, Bangladesh, Laos and Hong Kong(China). ISU will make full use of UIA's resource platform, actively extend its international perspective, develop influential international silk enterprises and organizations, expand the ISU scale.

On May 19, UIA official website published the International Silk Union survey report -- Impact of COVID-19 on International Silk Industry and Consumer Market Trends. It is opening up the information exchange and share between ISU and international platforms, and enhancing the international influence of ISU.

The inclusion of ISU by Yearbook of International Organizations will promote international exchanges and cooperation in the silk industry. Adhering to the purpose of “Communication & Cooperation, Development with Concerted Efforts”, and with the enthusiastic cooperation of member units, ISU held three members assemblies and two chairman enlarged meetings, five international silk industry forums and seminars, organized multiple silk industry and culture exchange activities among member countries, established five professional committees, strengthened the construction of ISU secretariat, and promoted the information release platform. Including by the Yearbook of International Organizations will give more opportunities to carry out various inspections and exchange activities on the international stage, organize international conferences, provide platforms and services for member units, and promote the sustainable and healthy development of the silk industry.

 Union of International Associations 

The Union of International Associations (UIA), headquartered in Brussels, Belgium, is an international research organization of non-profit and non-governmental organizations. Under the authorization of the United Nations, publicing the information of international organizations, international conferences, and world issues, etc. UIA was founded in 1907 by Henri La Fontaine, Nobel Peace Prize laureate of 1913, and Paul Otlet, a founding father of what is now called information science. With a history of more than 100 years, it is the oldest qualified industry association in conferences, exhibitions and tourism. UIA is best known for the Yearbook of International Organizations, International Congress Calendar, International Meetings Statistics Report, Associations Round Table, and Encyclopedia of World Problems and Human Potential. The Yearbook of International Organizations is the authoritative information about international organizations, coverage includes intergovernmental (IGOs) and international non-governmental organizations (INGOs), UIA classifies all international organizations according to regions, countries, and disciplines, etc.
