Report of International Silk Union(Part 1 of 2019, January - March)
1. Daily work of ISU secretariat
In this period, ISU secretariat handled a total of 210 emails, including 111 English and 99 Chinese, mainly to promote international project of “Millennials, fashion, sustainability and silk”, contact with Hoi An Silk Group for Vietnam-International Silk and Brocade Culture Festival 2019, discuss visiting itinerary with member units, etc.
World silk website was optimized and upgraded from February to March. The website data has not been counted yet. We-chat public platform published 104 articles, including 14 original reports. The whole reading amount is 71266, the highest amount of single reading is 2332, subscribers increase 456 to total 6247.
On February 18, 2019, ISU secretariat held a working meeting to discuss the initial plan of 2019 ISU Members Assembly, implement participation in Vietnam-International Silk and Brocade Culture Festival, discuss the proposal of world silk website’s optimization and upgrading, arrange daily work of the secretariat.
2. The government and business representatives of Shengzhou City of China opened exchange with ISU
On January 20, 2019, invited by Shengzhou Municipal Bureau of Commerce, ISU secretariat attended the launch conference of Babei’s whole-age artificial diet factory sericulture, and the world silk website released a report about the technology and achievement of whole-age artificial diet factory sericulture.
On February 22, ISU chairman Li Jilin met the leaders of Shengzhou Municipal Government, Municipal Bureau of Commerce, Shengzhou City Necktie Association and representatives of the silk enterprises. chairman Li Jilin introduced the special work carried out since the establishment of ISU and the development trend of the world silk industry. Deputy-mayor Liang Yu introduced the development of silk industry in Shengzhou City. The two sides had an in-depth communication on future exchanges and cooperation.
3. ISU secretariat visited Chinese member units
In order to further strengthen the awareness of ISU services, understand the development of member units, and strengthen the relationship between the secretariat and member units, in March 2019, ISU chairman Li Jilin and other entourage visited the member unit of Shandong Hirun Investment Group Co., Ltd. ISU secretary-general Fei Jianming and other entourage visited the member units of Jin Fuchun Group, Wensli Group, High Fashion International Limited, China National Silk Museum.
Through the visit, ISU conducted field investigation on the development status of member units, and listened in detail to the current major difficulties and existing problems of member units. Chairman Li Jilin expressed to the member units that the secretariat will further improve its services, make its own characteristics, give full play to the role of the union platform, and strengthen international communication and cooperation among the member units.
4. Promote the project of “Millennials, fashion, sustainability and silk”
In order to improve the positive behavior of Millennials on the sustainable fashion of silk, ISU commissioned member unit Bisa Overseas in Brazil with the international research project of "Millennials, fashion, sustainability and silk". The results of project were released at 2018 ISU Chairman Enlarged Meeting and now it enters into the promotion stage. ISU cooperates with the needs of enterprises and institutions from Italy and Switzerland, to add company’s logo and website to the teaser video, which is convenient for spreading on social media Facebook, WhatsApp and Instagram.
Currently, Ufficio Italiano Seta, Fratelli Vitali di Roberto Spa, Tessitura Serica AM Taborelli Srl, Ongetta Srl, Successori Giuseppe Cattaneo Spa, Ratti Spa, Trudel, Association Ex Allievi Setificio, Setificio Former Students Association and other enterprises and institutions have carried out different aspects of promotion.
Welcome the member units from the other countries actively to participate in this promotion. Just offer the logo and website, ISU secretariat will help to create the teaser video to spread.
5. Optimization and upgrading of world silk website
To further optimize and improve the platform function of the website, improve the international service level of the website, and meet the needs of mobile phone browsing for domestic and foreign visitors, in 2019, ISU official website---world silk website (www.worldsilk.com.cn), improved the visit effect and safety. The main optimization include:
(1) Develop adaptive function. The website has developed the adaptive function of mobile browsing to optimize the mobile access, and users can automatically identify the Chinese and English sections of the website according to the IP address.
(2) Add topic column. Through the addition of topic column, the world silk website will integrate the news reports and expert comments of major events of ISU into the same column, which is convenient for users to visit.
(3) Improve operation and maintenance, adjust structure of website. The world silk website has been optimized on the basis of the original layout. The homepage of website is more concise and refreshing, and the typesetting of content is more pretty.
(4) Optimize search engine and enhance website security and stability. The website now uses Alibaba Cloud Service to improve the quality and stability of visit, and facilitate access by users from all over the world.
Up to now, the optimization and upgrading of the world silk website has been basically completed, and it has entered the stage of follow-up inspection and verification. ISU secretariat will issue a notice to the detail upgrade of website on the official platform.
