Import and Export of Thailand Silk Products in Jan

Trade situation of silk products in January.

        According to Thailand Customs, the trade amount of silk products in January was $ 70.7897 million with an increase of 11.04 percent and 35.46 percent compared to the last month and last year respectively. Among them, the import amount was $ 35.3271 million, up by 21.88 percent and 47.79 percent compared to the last month and last year respectively. The export amount was $35.4626 million, up by 2 percent and 25.06 percent compared to the last month and last year respectively. Specific products composition as follows:

        Import: Amount of silk was $ 787.2 thousand with an increase of 16.37 percent and 44.27 percent compared to the last month and last year. Volume of silk were 22.02 tons, up by 17.62 percent compared to last month and down by 6.41 percent compared to the last year. Amount of silk fabrics was $ 13.3937 million, rose 24.49 percent and 9.16 percent compared to the last month and last year respectively. Amount of silk manufactured products was $ 21.1462 million, rose 20.48 percent and 90.72 percent compared to the last month and last year respectively.

        Export: Amount of silk was $ 11.172 million, rose 102.36 percent from previous month and 192.73 percent from the previous year. Volume of silk were 21.61 tons, up by 47.79 percent from previous month and 123.98 percent from the previous year. Amount of silk fabrics were $ 4.3655 million, decrease 18.84 percent from the previous month and increase 15.05 percent from the previous year. Amount of silk manufactured products was $ 29.9799 million, increase 3.96 percent from the previous month and 23.98 percent from the previous year.

        The major import sources were China (import amount was $ 19.8275 million, rose 73.22% year-on-year, accounting for 56.13%), Taiwan (import amount was $ 3.4398 million, rose 32.14% year-on-year, accounting for 9.74%), Vietnam (import amount was $ 2.5259 million, rose 88.21% year-on-year, accounting for 7.15%), Hong Kong (import amount was $ 1.7318 million, rose 6.06% year-on-year, accounting for 4.9%), and Japan (import amount was $ 1.4917 million, rose 41.52% year-on-year, accounting for 4.22%). All these 5 import sources totally accounted for 82.14 percent.

        The major export markets were America (export amount was $ 8.557 million, rose 47.98% year-on-year, accounting for 24.13%), Belgium (export amount was $ 4.6585 million, rose 16.03% year-on-year, accounting for 13.14%), Japan (export amount was $ 3.7303 million, fell 0.41% year-on-year, accounting for 10.52%), China (export amount was $ 1.8157 million, rose 260.99% year-on-year, accounting for 5.12%), and Vietnam (export amount was $ 1.3358 million, rose 108.05% year-on-year, accounting for 3.77%). All these 5 major export markets totally accounted for 56.68 percent.
