At the invitation of Labat (President of Sino-France Friendship Association and the vice-president of new Institut Franco-Chinois de Lyon), Li Jiling (chairman of the International Silk Union) visited new Institut Franco-Chinois de Lyon, and listened in detail to Mr. Labat's introduction of the history. The new Institut Franco-Chinois de Lyon opened its doors in the autumn of 1921, and enrolled 473 Chinese students in the 25 years from 1921 to 1946. Among them, outstanding student representatives Chang shuhong, devoted himself to defend the important Chinese heritage on the silk road - Dunhuang murals; Pan Yuliang, a famous Chinese artist, first create the painting art theme and innovate it in China. All of them combine Chinese culture and French culture, and have made great contributions to promoting cultural exchanges and understanding between the two countries.
Located at the former site of the Institut Franco-Chinois de Lyon, not only provided museum functions, but also provided a favorable space for the exchange of Sino-France economic, academic and contemporary art. It is also the location of the Lyon-China Relations Promotion Center, which was unveiled by president Xi Jinping on March 26, 2014.
During the French Silk Festival, the Institut Franco-Chinois de Lyon also exhibited a series of Chinese and French silk works.

President Li Jilin elaborated on the general situation of the International Silk Union and the work carried out since its establishment. Mr. Michele Canepa extended his warm congratulation on the founding of the International Silk Union. He believes that the international silk industry needs such an international exchange and cooperation platform to exchange information, enhance mutual understanding, expand cooperation and develop hand in hand. As a great silk producer in the world, China hopes to play a greater role in the future development of the silk industry in the world.
