【Part II】International Silk Union Visited Silk Ent

On December 26th, invited by Peoples Committee of Bao Loc City and Vietnam Sericulture Association, ISU delegation visited the Bao Loc Citys representative silk enterprises, and attended the Silk-Tea Culture Week International Conference.

 

In the morning, the delegation visited Bao Loc Citys silk enterprises. The first was Viseri, Bao Loc City's largest silk enterprise. The delegation held a symposium with the leaders of Viseri Company. Nguyen Van, honorary president of Vietnam Sericulture Association, founder of Bao Loc City silk industry, Vu Cao Trung, vice president of Viseri, Tran Quoc Hung, general manager of Viseri, Nguyen Van Dinh, deputy general manager, Dang Vinh Tho, deputy general manager of Viseri and president of the Vietnam Sericulture Association, Vu Ngoc Van, deputy general manager, and representatives of departments attended the meeting. The meeting was held by Dang Vinh Tho, deputy general manager of Viseri and president of Vietnam Sericulture Association.

Dang Vinh Tho introduced the Vietnam Sericulture Association and basic situation of Vietnamese silk industry.

 

 

Vietnam Sericulture Association founded in 2002, it is a non-profit social organization registered by the Ministry of Civil Affairs, including over 50 member units across the country, mainly in Lam Dong Province. There is one president, five vice president, one secretary-general. The secretariat is located in Bao Loc City, Lam Dong Province. The association has become member unit of International Silk Union, and actively participate in all activities of the Union to promote communication and cooperation.

 

 

The silk industry in Vietnam is mainly concentrated in Lam Dong Province, accounting for 70-80% of the national. The silk industry in Lam Dong Province is mainly concentrated in Bao Loc City, accounting for 60% of Lam Dong Province. The top three of Bao Loc City silk enterprises are Viseri Company, accounting for 70% of Bao Loc City. Dong Lam Silk accounts for 25% of Bao Loc City. Others including Bao Loc Silk and Habu Silk accounting for 5% of Bao Loc City.

 

Nguyen Van Dinh, the deputy general manager of Viseri, detailed the overall situation of the company and carefully prepared Chinese materials for the delegation so that the delegation can learn the growth and development of the company at a glance.

 

 

Viseri was established in 1975 with 6 subsidiaries and 1 joint venture, 4 processing plants, mainly producing twisted wire, dyed silk, silk necktie, kimono silk and other silk products,  with output of 500 tons / year, 100 tons / year, 50000 meters / year, 68000 meters / year, 820000 meters / year respectively. These production were exported to France, Italy, Japan, South Korea, India, Thailand, Pakistan and other overseas markets. Viseri is one of the top sericulture enterprises in Vietnam.

 

After the symposium, Viseri presented gifts to the delegation, and took a photo.

 

 

The second company was Dong Lam Silk, it operates in the reeling business with equipment from Latium Italia, which has been in use for nearly a decade and equipment is old. The person in charge of the company said it will introduce a replacement of reeling equipment in China . Representatives of union member units of textile machinery and equipment actively negotiated, which was also a positive manifestation of the union's purpose, communication and cooperation, development with concerted efforts.

 

 

 

The third company was Kimono Silk Textile Factory, it is a Japan and Vietnam joint-venture weaving company, the mainly production is kimono silk and exports to Japan. The equipment shuttle rapier loom was introduced from Japan Tsudakoma, relatively old, but the workshop clean and tidy, well managed.

 

 

In the afternoon, the union delegation was invited to attend the Bao Loc City Silk - Tea Culture Week International Conference. Pham S, vice governor of Lam Dong Province, Nguyen Quoc Bac, mayor of Bao Loc City, and representatives of major silk enterprises and organization in Lam Dong province attended the conference. The meeting was held by Dang Vinh Tho, president of Vietnam Sericulture Association.

 

 

At first, Pham S, vice governor of Lam Dong Province, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. Nguyen Quoc Bac, the mayor of Bao Loc City, delivered a speech mainly introducing the status quo of mulberry silk industry in Lam Dong Province and investment support policies.

In order to promote Sino-Vietnamese silk enterprises to carry out technological exchanges, economic and trade cooperation and investment, the International Silk Union signed a memorandum of cooperation with Vietnam Sericulture Association, and the government of Bao Loc City as the witness party.

 

 

Dang Vinh Tho, president of Vietnam Sericulture Association, once again introduced the silkworm and silk industry in Vietnam. Le Quang Tu, president of Centeral Sericulture Research Center, introduced the current status and major achievements of the research on sericulture in Vietnam.

 

 

Kosho Matsunaga, the managing director of Matsushima, the member unit of ISU, introduced the basic situation of silk production in major countries in the world.

 

 

The second half of the meeting was the industry discussion matchmaking meeting sponsored by the chairman of Bao Loc City People's Committee. The enterprises of mulberry and silkworm, filature and weaving of silk, and the famers of mulberry and silkworm raised difficulties and problems, sericulture research and technology departments put forward suggestions and solutions, docking the two sides conducted in-depth communication and exchange.

 

 

 

Fei Jianming, secretary-general of ISU, provided opinions and suggestions on the problems and difficulties existing in the silk industry in Vietnam. The leaders of Bao Loc City, Lam Dong Province and representatives of the silk enterprises all agreed with his comments.

 

 

Finally, Nguyen Quoc Bac, the mayor of Bao Loc City, delivered a closing speech. He thanked the ISU for being invited to participate in the activities of Bao Loc City. He also thanked the Union for its valuable suggestions for the development of Vietnamese silk industry. He hoped that the Vietnamese silk enterprises and technical research departments could closely linked to learn the advanced experience of Chinese silk development, and promote the rapid development of Vietnamese silk industry.

 

 

Silk - Tea Culture Week series of activites in Vietnam was ending, ISU in line with the purpose of communication and cooperation, development with concerted efforts, fully understands the current situation and demand of silk in Vietnam, provides services and facilities for the silk industry in China and Vietnam, promotes the development of silk industry in various countries so as to achieve mutual benefits win.
