ISU Assists Member Units in Purchasing Anti-epidemic Materials

COVID-19 continued to spread all over the world, and the main silk producers and consumers were affected to varying degrees. Since March 2020, International Silk Union(ISU) has learned about the status quo and difficulties faced by member units through questionnaires, emails, and telephones, and used the advantages of platform to assist member units in responding to the epidemic. In the European region where the epidemic is severe, protective materials are urgently needed and there is an urgent need to import protective materials. Some companies lack channels to find suppliers, and some companies purchase masks but cannot clear customs for various reasons.

On March 12, Mr. Zhang Guoqiang, chairman of ISU and chairman of the board of Cathaya Group, sent a greetings letter to Mr. Stefano Vitali, vice chairman of ISU and president of Italian Silk Office, and Mr. Xavier Lepingle, vice chairman of ISU, president of INTERSOIE France, and general manager of Holding Textile Hermès, and presented silk masks and other epidemic prevention materials. He sincerely hope to overcome the epidemic together and everything is going well.

Chairman unit Cathaya Group, from materials purchase, design and development to production, overcome a series of difficulties caused by conversion, opened up multiple production lines, and produced tens of thousands of disposable masks day and night. The silk masks have been technology upgraded step by step from ordinary models to second- and third-generation, N95-grade silk protective masks have been successfully developed to support domestic and foreign countries and fight the epidemic.

After receiving the mask, Mr. Stefano Vitali and Mr. Xavier Lepingle expressed their sincere gratitude to chairman Zhang Guoqiang, hoping to overcome the epidemic as soon as possible, resume silk production, and talk about the future of silk.

CE certification, as a necessary document for the legal sales of Chinese products in the European Union, has recently become the focus of the market. The various invalid certifications issued by various certification bodies and intermediaries are dazzling.

Facing various uncertainties in the international market, on March 15, Mr. Xavier Lepingle sought help from ISU to import a batch of disposable medical masks from China, hoping to help find reliable suppliers and ensure smooth customs clearance.

After the multi-channel contact and docking, strict selection of supplier qualifications by ISU, chairman unit Cathaya Group help to find the suppliers and assist export. On April 10, Holdings Textile Hermès successfully received the mask, the import price was reasonable, the product qualifications were good, and the order was handed over seamlessly, ensuring the smooth recovery and production of the enterprise.
