Secretary-general Fei Jianming was Invited to Made a Special Report in Ceremony & Forum of the Guangdong Belt & Road Agricultural Science and Technology Education Innovation Alliance
In order to strengthen the exchange and win-win cooperation of modern agriculture, encourage modern agriculture to actively go out, and promote the "Consultation, Contribution and Shared Benefits" of countries along the routes, on July 4, Ceremony & Forum of the Guangdong Belt & Road Agricultural Science and Technology Education Innovation Alliance was held in South China Agricultural University, Guangzhou, reviewed and established the Guangdong Belt & Road Agricultural Science and Technology Education Innovation Alliance, held the opening ceremony of the Training Course of Sericulture Technology Innovation and Management. Leaders of administration of Guangdong province, experts and professors, diplomats, chambers of commerce and sericulture trainee from India, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Nigeria, Kenya, Senegal, Pakistan, Ethiopia, Thailand, Malaysia and other countries, totally more than 200 people attended the meeting.
The forum centered on "academic seminars, technical exchanges and docking", invited academician Luo Xiwen of South China Agricultural University, secretary-general Fei Jianming of International Silk Union, president Yang Yong of Guangdong Liankun Group Co., Ltd. and professor Chen Houbin of South China Agricultural University to give special reports. Representatives from developing countries such as India, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia, Georgia, Kenya, Bangladesh and Ghana were invited to introduce the agricultural development and technological needs, promoting dialogue and cooperation among developing countries.
During the forum, secretary-general Fei Jianming introduced the basic situation of International Silk Union(ISU) from aspects of the nature, purpose and structure. International Silk Union was founded in 2015, adhered to the principle of “communication and cooperation, development with concerted efforts”, actively developed new members and provided support and convenience to the members. At present, there are more than 110 member units from 17 countries and regions, including 5 national industry organizations, and there are also 5 professional committees of History Culture, Education Culture, Fashion Design, Technical Innovation and Trade Manufacture.
Secretary-general Fei Jianming further introduced the international exchanges and cooperation carried out by ISU since its establishment. ISU secretariat has organized regional silk industry and cultural exchanges many times, convened the ISU Members Assembly and the ISU Chairman Enlarged Meeting, held the Seminar on New Development Trends of World Silk Industry, and the Belt and Road Forum for International Silk, organized China Hangzhou Silk Boutique Exhibition during French Silk Festival, conducted theme seminars of professional committee, promoted the close exchange of the international silk industry.
The participants gave wide acclaim to the development of the ISU. After the meeting, representatives of sericulture and silk from Azerbaijan, Laos, Georgia, Kenya, Bangladesh and other countries, experts and professors of South China Agricultural University enthusiastically exchanged views with secretary-general Fei Jianming and gained an in-depth understanding of the development of ISU. Secretary-general Fei listened carefully to the scale of sericulture development in various countries and expressed to the representatives that he hopes to strengthen contacts and gives full play to the role of the international platform of ISU.
