The CACF has successfully closed in Beijing, and China will again support 60 billion U.S. dollars to Africa. Africa is bound to become a hot spot for investment. In this context, how will the silk industry develop in Africa? I tried to make a deeper analysis.

Legend begins, during the CACF in Beijing, the filming crew filmed Mr. He Liehui, a Chinese businessman who has worked hard in Africa. Mr. He is a native of Zhuji, Zhejiang. He met Mr. MacDon of Lagos, Nigeria, in Hong Kong ten years ago. The two started to sell various Chinese fabrics to Africa from the streets to the countryside, the business is getting bigger and bigger, and the footprints are all over Africa. Mr. He has become a guest of the multinational leadership and is now building a special zone in Djibouti. Before the CACF, Mr. He visited the presidents, prime ministers and presidents of the National Bank of Nigeria, Namibia, Kenya, Ethiopia and other countries in Beijing. After the forum, he accompanied the leaders of the Chinese provinces and cities to visit Africa.

Sep. 7, Filming crew and I together went to interview Mr. MacDon at the office of Balogun Market in Lagos, and witnessed the legend of this busy and noisy and chaotic fabric market that has produced a successful business man. The success depends on the wisdom and timidity of Mr. He and the huge demand in the African market.

Afternoon of Sep. 7, I visited the Lecce Nature Reserve, adjacent to Lagos. This botanical garden, its a tropical rainforest that remains in Lagos. In the dense forest, a wooden corridor that clings to the water and stretches, an African longest steel cable bridge spans the rainforest. The long-tailed tarsier leaps between the cable and the tree pole, and the crocodile quietly lurks under the water, revealing only the eyes and nostrils. Such a tropical rainforest is a generous gift from nature for an African city. But from another angle, the land of Africa may have a warm and humid climate before, and exist the large area of tropical rainforest. It was only the erosion of human beings that made the remaining nature protection center seem precious.

In fact, cooperation between China and Africa has already existed. I took his family as an example. In the 1970s, my fifth sister, as an interpreter for the Tanzanian economic construction project sent by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and the Foreign Affairs Bureau of the Ministry of Agriculture, had worked in Tanzania for three years. my niece, as the overseas manager of China Communications Service Company, built a nationwide wireless infrastructure network in Nigeria in 2005, and in the following years, a large number of transmission lines and wireless base stations were built in African countries such as Egypt, Libya, Sudan, and Ethiopia, which made their own efforts for the information construction in Africa. Today in Nigeria, we can see more Chinese companies, CSCEC and CRCC are helping Lagos to build road transportation infrastructure. Huawei has been deeply rooted in this, and CNPC is also expanding its territory. Nigeria is rich in oil, but it has not escaped poverty so far. Workers wages are only equivalent to the level of Hangzhou, China in the 1980s, and they are not as rich as the UAE countries. The reason for this is that the Western countries have long divided the share of crude oil in Nigeria. All crude oil must be exported, and all refined oil must be imported. This is why they are poor. I thought, when China-Africa cooperation goes deeper, CNPC may help build a refinery in Nigeria and completely change the curse that refined oil must be imported.

Sep. 8, film crew and I flew to Nairobi, Kenya, from West Africa to East Africa, across the African continent, the flight time is 7 hours. Nairobis airport management and urban construction are obviously better than Lagos. Perhaps because Kenya is a country with tourism as its main industry, the worlds famous animal migration has attracted world photographers.

What a surprise is that the annual meeting of ITMF is being held at the Kempinski Hotel in Nairobi. Looking from the agenda, this is a very professional meeting, and in line with the development of the world textile industry. On the morning of Sep. 9, Mr. Sun Ruizhe, president of CNTAC, and Mr. Feng Dehu, vice president of CNGA, accepted an interview with the film crew. Mr. Sun said, Zheng He's voyages, from the Kenyan port of Mombasa to the Cape of Good Hope, Chinese silk has already arrived in Africa. As a carrier of Chinese culture, Chinese silk has made Africans aware of China and understand Chinese culture. Today, Chinese silk will certainly make more and more Africans like it. The film crew also entered annual meeting of ITMF. During the coffee break, they exchanged with the former chairman of the South African Republic of the ITMF.

In the afternoon, I visited the Nairobi National Park in Kenya with the delegates of ITMF. The 119-square-kilometer safari park is adjacent to downtown Nairobi. In the evening, They watched a fashion show created by 30 Nairobi fashion designers, and experienced African fashion trends, perceiving the market potential of Chinese silk in Africa.

The last thing to tell is a major event that has a far-reaching impact on the Chinese silk industry and even the world silk industry. I called it an epoch-making feat in the silk industry. On Aug. 27, before CACF, Chinese enterprise Guangdong Silk-Tex Group signed a strategic cooperation agreement with the Kenyan government. Guangdong Silk-Tex Group invested 1 billion RMB to develop silk industry on 100,000 hectares of land in Kenya, which could provide 300,000 peasant jobs for Kenya and 1 billion US dollars for Kenya.

After CACF, Guangdong Silk-Tex Group held a meeting of the company's senior management and technology experts to implement this strategic cooperation agreement. On Sep. 10, the delegation of Guangdong Silk-Tex Group will soon go to Kenya for field research. The quick action shows both the determination and the confidence in achieving the goal. Guangdong Silk-Tex Group is the vice chairman unit of ISU, I contacted a well-known executive and hoped to have a meet in Kenya, but their trip was too busy to have a meet. But they promised to share the survey with me. I was born with a thought suddenly, when the strategic cooperation between Guangdong Silk-Tex Group and the Kenyan government is successful, the ISU can also hold the members assembly in Nairobi to congratulate the rewriting of the world silk industry.

The above describes five things that seem to be unrelated. In fact, careful readers will also realize that Africa's land is full of business opportunities, Africa is about to accelerate development, Africa's climate is suitable for silkworms, and the silk industry has huge room for development in Africa. The key is to find opportunities, seize opportunities, act quickly, and move toward the goal.

Finally, a preview, the three-episode documentary "Jincheng Oriental" is the key cultural project of Zhejiang, China to commemorate the 40th anniversary of reform and opening-up. The theme of documentary is that Chinese silk has spread to the world more than 2,000 years ago. Today, Chinese silk is still used as a link to tie the countries along the Belt and Road, and China silk is also striving to develop the African silk industry. International Silk Union and Hangzhou Silk Culture and Brand Research Center, as a support coordinator of the documentary, participated and provided a lot of information of the shooting. The documentary is expected to air in December 2018, and everyone is welcome to watch it.
