The Person,Chairman of Hoi An Silk Village
On June 12,2017, attending the Vietnam-International Silk Festival, I complete the all day activities, from shaking hands warmly with Mr. Le thai vu at 8:00 in the morning, to watching the fashion show at 10:00 in the evening, with 33 degrees heat. The Hoi An Silk Village, organizer of the festival, seems riveting enough effort to arrange as many activities as possible, otherwise they would feel sorry for the guests. Hospitality is my original understanding of him.
This is the second time for International Silk Union(ISU)to come to Hoi An Silk Village. It was Vietnam-Asian Silk Festival last year, but Vietnam-International Silk Festival this year. Looking at the surface, it is for “large and luxurious”, actually it is also a kind of yearning for integration into the world and self-improvement. However, I can not understand one point, Hoi An Silk Village as a private enterprise,why they would like to spend a lot money to organize such a kind of international silk cultural activities independently? Although Mr. Le thai vu is good at management and earn a lot of money, because he has 4 hotels and a resort. But I wonder he can use his money to develop his business continuously, why dose he invite so many guests with free room and accommodation,and hold the festival every? Would the Chinese enterprises like to do like this? Already have? What his purpose to do this? At the end of all the activities, I finally get the answer.
ISU is the most important guests of the festival, I complete all my task according to the agenda: giving a speech on the opening ceremony; meeting with vice governor of Vietnam's Quang Nam province , mayor of Bao Loc city, chairman of Vietnam Silk Association, to discuss how to develop the silk industry in Vietnam, together with the ISU members from China, Vietnam, Thailand, Cambodia, India. Receiving the interview of Vietnam Television, Quang Nam Television, and Vietnam Defense Television, to answer the big questions such as “Vietnam silk industry is very difficult, what do you think should be done? “,"Compared with Chinese silk, what do you think is the shortcomings of Vietnamese?” and so on; Delivering a keynote speech themed”Communication,Cooperation and Development with Concerted Efforts” on the intentional silk seminar. After these task, I start to relax. Just right there is a member of our delegation invite me to have dinner in the Hoi An Ancient Town, I receive his invitation even though there is still a fashion show in the evening in agenda. I think it a recreational activity and it would be no problem without participation.
We choose a Vietnamese restaurant in the town under the leadership of volunteers. Mr. Le thai vu calls me by phone many times when we are drinking beer. He hopes me to attend the fashion show. I feel disrespectful if we do not participate. So we can only quickly rush to show field.
The fashion show last year was held in Hoi An Silk Village, but this year it is arranged near the ancient town and still in the open air. Mr. Le thai vu is waiting us there. I say sorry many times to him looking at the audience have already sit down for a while.
At this time, The climax of today's event is coming. Mr. Le thai vu begins to introduce this show field.”Here was Confucius Temple, a building that left by the Chinese people hundreds of years ago, but now few people come here, the visitor would more like to go to the Japan Bridge in the town. I arrange the show here just to show that I would like everyone to come to Confucius Temple and slowly dilute the entanglements between our two countries”.
I am really shocked by the words of Mr. Le thai vu. A Vietnamese silk man has as much as such a profound consideration. A fashion show site, actually contains such a kind of great goal.
This is a man who touch me and make me awe. His feelings have long been beyond the money, beyond the personal. He starts to organize the silk festival in Hoi An Silk Village after the foundation of ISU, and increase deepen exchanges and cooperation with China with this platform. Do you dare say that he does not contain the selflessness goal of "slowly dilute the entanglements between our two countries"? I am glad that I have said in the brief speech in the morning that “We come for friendship, for the exchange and cooperation, for the common development”. Because Mr. Le thai vu , the man who listens to these words, his thoughts is far more than me, he will resonate with these words. He will also certainly regard me as a real friend.

That was my primary understanding of Vietnam. This time, I write the “The Person,Chairman of Hoi An Silk Village”, it is my further understanding of Vietnam.
