蚕
Silkworms are larvae of insects in the family Silkworm Moth, order Lepidoptera. The body is in a long cylindrical shape, composed of a head and a body. The head is smaller, and the mouthpiece is located below the base of the lip, consisting of the upper lip, upper jaw, lower jaw, and lower lip. A white conical silk tube protrudes from the center of the front end of the lower lip, and the end of the tube opens, allowing the cocoon silk to be expelled. There are two lower lip whiskers on each side of the base of the silk tube. The pupal body is spindle shaped.

Silkworm cocoon refers to the cocoon of silkworms. The sac shaped protective layer during the pupal stage of silkworms, containing the pupal body.
